We are a local branch of the National Society which holds monthly meetings in Northampton with members from west Northamptonshire, Bedford and the Milton Keynes area. We have guest speakers, slide presentations, quizzes, demonstrations, open days at members’ collections and other social events.
Our members also participate in events organised by Zone 6, the thriving South Midlands Zone of the National Society.
At our meetings we offer plants for sale. For society members there is an extensive lending library with a wide selection of books and journals. We produce a magazine three times a year and a monthly bulletin to keep you in touch with branch events and other topical matters of interest.
Members of other branches of the BCSS and visitors are welcome at our meetings.
We hope that you will read this web page and make contact with others in the area who are interested in growing cacti and other succulent plants.

Meetings are held at: Abington Community Centre, Wheatfield Road South, NORTHAMPTON (see map) NN3 2HH (see Google map) at 7.30 pm on the first Friday of most months |

The BCSS Forum This is a forum where you can read interesting topics about cacti and succulents, often with pictures. The members are friendly and helpful. To post a topic or add to a 'thread' you must log in. You need an email address. You do not need to be a member of the BCSS and overseas contributors are welcome.
Cactus and Succulent Plant Mall Always a great place to start an evenings surfing. When (if!) you read that lot save the Change Log in your favourites to see what's new.
Galleria Carnivora Not, as you will immediately realise, a cactus or succulent site but fun and very well done. The site is naturally 'non-smoking' (this is, after all, California - I think; at least it is always sunny when I go there), so there are no health risks when visiting. Many of the plants will grow very well with real plants, (err.... cacti and succulents that is.)
